Today Optera™ (previously Point380) presented its innovative and rapidly growing Sustainability Management Platform (SMP) at the first-ever Techstars Sustainability Summit. The Summit was attended by over 1600 participants representing investors, corporate partners, NGOs and fellow entrepreneurs.
Optera was recently selected to be one of 16 startups out of over 400 applicants to participate in the Techstars Sustainability Supply Chain Challenge. Chief Product Officer, Tim Weiss, presented an overview of the Optera platform and the unique features that enable companies to address emissions stemming from their supply chains, investment portfolios, or products. Optera creates a shared data platform between customers and suppliers or investors and portfolio companies enabling coordinated emissions tracking and management at industry-scale. It was designed with collaboration by Hewlett-Packard Enterprises, Dell and several of their peers in the IT industry.
The Optera Platform directly addresses the challenge outlined by Techstars: How do manufacturers get insights into the operations of external suppliers—and ultimately improve their behaviors?
